Homeless
The Sparrow Alliance intends to increase public awareness of the homeless in our communities (and those near homelessness), research the needs of this population, and create projects aimed at intervening in the most critical areas of need.
If you are homeless, close to becoming homeless, or know someone who is in this situation, please post the information on the Forum section, or email us. Please tell us your needs, and how we can contact you. If you are a community member that wishes to help in our efforts to assist the homeless, then consider help in one of several ways:
1. Join the Sparrow Alliance and contribute to the cause with your time and services, through helping us identify areas of need and become involved in projects to target those needs. Check back soon for Upcoming Projects to become involved.
2. Show that you care about those less fortunate by making a monetary donation, donate today. 100% of money donated will go directly to the projects outlined on this site. All labor and administrative costs are donated by Sparrow Alliance Members.
3. Donate food, clothes, houshold items, and other things that clutter your life and interfere with living a generous existence. Locations for donations are designated on the 211 site above.
4. Increase personal awareness of homeless needs in your community by visiting a homeless shelter and just spending time getting to know these people. For the Salt Lake area, you can contact the Volunteer Coordinator office at the Road Home, at 801.359.4142, ext. 7298.
5. Contribute to improving our understanding of the current needs and suggest your own potential projects ideas on the Forum on this page.
6. Call 211 and ask how you can volunteer individually to help others- not only the homeless, but those at risk of being homeless and undergoing significant life stress.
